365- Lost and Found

365- Lost-and-Found, originally uploaded by boomer3297.

After leaving Washington DC we decided to drive through Delaware and take the ferry from Lewes Delaware to Cape May, New Jersey .
Lewes, one of the first cities founded in the US was settled by the Dutch in 1631. This didn’t last long as the Lenape Indians wiped out the 32 settlers shortly there after.
As you travel around the bay this lighthouse will sure help you if your lost.

WOW, stunning – great vignette too!

  2. Top Lighthouse shot, some of us can’t afford light boxes and you have a whole lighthouse. I love the pleasant little story of the Dutch Massacre too, Life Happens.

  3. The solitary lighthouse conveys a sense of both lonesomeness and quiet protection.

I love the solitary feeling, and that there is nothing on the horizon. Great photo.

  5. I love how it is so prominent and the sky melts into the water.
