365- Sleepy or Sleeping

Sleeping is something that my daughters have been doing a lot of this holiday break. Me, I’m up everyday at 6am taking pictures. My family says there’s something wrong with me. The things you’ll do to provide a picture a day!
On another note, I would like to take this opportunity to thank each and every person who has visited my blog over the last 12 months. Admittingly, when I embarked on this photographic journey my vision of the end result was as blurry as the picture in this post. I am truly grateful for all your comments and suggestions, for it’s YOU that has allowed me to obtain a much clearer picture of where I am going with this incredible avocation.

THANK YOU!

This is the sun room at my brother’s house on Las Vegas. A beautiful home and a great room place for HDR.
As you can tell, I’m cramming in as many as I can in the next 48 hours. Won’t be able to fully finish, oh well!

After visiting Washington this summer I had a new found interest in learning more about the history of our country. I’ve since read several books about the founding fathers and currently reading a great book about Lincoln.
I’d go back to Washington in a second.

These chairs are located in the lobby of the Grand Cascades Lodge in northwest NJ. Wow, what a great lodge and a perfect place to relax.

This is the oldest working lighthouse in the United States. The Sandy Hook lighthouse was built in 1764 and is just over 100 ft. tall. It used to stand 500 feet from from the tip of Sandy Hook, as a result of natural shifting of land , it now stands 11/2 miles from the tip.
The lighthouse is only one of many interesting features of Fort Hancock which is located on Sandy Hook. This is subtle hdr converted to B+W.

….or entrance for that matter. This is also from Fort Hancock on Sandy Hook. Looks like part of a prison or something, maybe I’ll visit when they have guided tours (instead of the wee hours of the morning) and ask a few questions.
I’m not sure of the mood of this version, any ideas on how to process to accentuate the mood?

This post is a request from someone, other than myself, who has an OBSESSION with HDR. You’ll have to look at the previous post to figure out who it is. Or maybe you already know:)
Oh btw Ron, HDR can be done in B+W as well.

One of the dilapidated buildings at Fort Hancock on Sandy Hook, NJ. I spent a few hours combing the ruins of this old base. Interesting facts regarding this Army base can be found here.

Ran across this guy during my walk around the Manasquan Reservoir the other day. I must have scared him stiff because he didn’t move for the whole 10 minutes I was there.
